Cartin’ in the Keys / Rent A Cart Now

37 years ago, the owner of Keys Life Magazine, Allan Pope, moved to the Keys the summer before his senior year of high school. As a military kid, he had called many places home, but after a short time living in the Keys and making some great friends, Allan knew one day, the Keys would be his forever home.

One such friend was David Epstein, who grew up in the Keys. David and Allan forged a friendship that would last a lifetime, despite life taking them in different directions after graduation.

David dove into the world Allan had grown up in by joining the military and moving around quite a bit. He’d traveled to 6 continents and served in the Air Force for 26 years. Through it all, David and Allan never lost contact.

“We’re like brothers,” David says. “We made it a point to stay in touch and see each other at least a couple times a year. We always knew we’d both end up back in the Keys someday.”

The two friends did end up settling back in the Keys as they planned. They jumped right into providing services for the community they love, Allan as the owner of Keys Life Magazine and David as part of the T-3 Group at Coastal Realty.

Recently, Allan and David decided to start a new venture together in addition to their individual jobs. They saw an opportunity to provide a much-needed service in the Keys and figured what better way to do it than together.

So, Allan and David launched RentACartNow, the only street-legal golf cart rental company in the Middle and Upper Keys. They offer a full range of beautiful carts for every need and budget, striking the perfect balance of luxury and affordability. 4 and 6-passenger gas, electric, and solar-powered golf carts are available for pickup and delivery between Ocean Reef and Marathon.

Golf carts fit perfectly into the laid-back atmosphere of the Keys. Customers get to enjoy the tropical sun on their faces and the ocean breeze in their hair (without having to rent an expensive convertible) as they go cartin’ around the Keys.

“A golf cart gives you a better Keys experience than a rental car, and at a better price,” Allan explains. “You can easily fit through tight spaces, find parking more easily, and drive right up to places you can’t by car. Not to mention you save a lot of money on fuel.”

As smaller and more efficient vehicles, golf carts are also more environmentally friendly than rental cars, which is always important to the Keys community.

“Plus, you see more of the Keys because you notice more as you drive around,” David adds. “You can see things from a golf cart that you won’t see from a car. ”

The RentACartNow golf carts, which range from economy to luxury, can legally drive on any public street with a speed limit of 35 mph or less. Customers receive a complete safety presentation to ensure they understand the local laws and how to drive the carts safely.

Allan and David’s individual jobs focus on connecting people to the Keys, and RentACartNow does the same. It shows people the Keys from a unique perspective and gives them the freedom to enjoy the lifestyle in a safe, fun way.
